Records Set as Hornet Women's Soccer Advances to ODAC Semifinals with 11-0 win over EMU

LYNCHBURG, VA – Seniors Dessi Dupuy and Angela Bosco each had historic afternoons Saturday in Lynchburg College's 11-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinal match-up.

Dupuy scored the game's first two goals and finished with a hat trick to reach 100 goals for a career, just the 15th woman to post triple-digit goals in NCAA Division III history.

Following Dupuy's first two goals, Bosco netted the next four tallies in a 5:26 span to make the game 6-0 just 15 minutes in. She added two second half goals to become the first women's LC soccer player to find the back of the net six times in a game. Bosco also now holds the record for points in a game (12), and also set two season-high marks. Her 27 goals tie Dupuy for the most goals in a single season (set in 2011 and 2012), while her 66 points pass Dupuy in the all-time point total rankings at the school.

Marina Clark and Dana Nelsen each had three assists, and Morgan Singer and Jade Woll also got in the scoring column. Natalie Deacon, Samantha Bagherpour, Hannah Olds and Camille Bartley also had an assist apiece.

Eastern Mennonite (6-12-1) net-minder Becca Borg finished with 16 saves. LC out-shot the Royals 41-0 and held a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

Top-seeded LC (20-0) will host #4 Virginia Wesleyan College, a 2-0 winner over Roanoke College Saturday. The Hornets, ranked #2 in NCAA Division III, and Marlins square off Wednesday evening in Lynchburg, with the winner to move on to the conference finals Saturday.
