Angela Bosco Scores Four as LC Women's Soccer Defeats E&H 10-0
LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior forward Angela Bosco found the back of the net four times Friday night as the eight-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Emory & Henry 10-0 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup. The contest kicked off four home athletic events at the College over Parents' and Family Weekend.
All-time LC and ODAC leading scorer Dessi Dupuy got the ball rolling with a goal within the first two minutes, assisted by Dana Nelsen. Bosco scored three minutes later on a cross from Jade Woll to make the score 2-0 and Kelley Smith blasted in a goal at 8:34 to give the Hornets a 3-0 edge. Bosco tallied her second goal at the 11-minute mark and Elizabeth Oden scored before intermission to make the score 5-0.
Bosco scored twice in the second half, and Dupuy, Rachel Cooke and Hannah Olds each added tallies. Camille Bartley and Nelsen each had two assists and Mary Beier had one.
LC out-shot the Wasps 37-2 and held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Kayla Wright and Vicki Fenley combined for nine saves for E&H (1-6/0-2 ODAC).
The Hornets (6-0/2-0 ODAC) host Christopher Newport University Sunday at 2 p.m. in a non-conference game to conclude the Parents and Family Weekend athletic slate.
