Bosco Posts Three Points as LC Women's Soccer Defeats Franklin & Marshall
SALEM, VA – Senior forward Angela Bosco posted two goals and an assist as the 19th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Franklin & Marshall College (PA) 4-0 in the Roanoke College Invitational Tournament.
Bosco found Dana Nelsen at the 15-minute mark of the first half to give LC a 1-0 edge early. She found the back of the net herself two minutes later and Morgan Singer had an unassisted goal in the 40th minute and the Hornets took a 3-0 lead into intermission. Bosco scored her second goal of the contest with 30 minutes remaining in the game.
Lynchburg out-shot the Diplomats 15-1, but F&M had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Shannon Johnson-Finn made eight stops in 85 minutes for Franklin & Marshall, and Nicole Savidge made three stops in just five minutes of action.
The Hornets (4-0) open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday at Bridgewater College at 1 p.m.
