LC Women Defeat Guilford 52-46

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior forward Shannon Allan scored a game-high 18 points Saturday to lead the Lynchburg College women's basketball team to a 52-46 victory over Guilford College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.

LC led 28-20 at halftime. The Quakers took a one-point second half advantage midway through the second stanza after two free throws from Heaven Walters. The game was tied at 42 all with five minutes on the game clock. A 6-0 LC run gave the Hornets the lead for good and they sealed the win at the free-throw line.

Allan nailed three three-pointers, all in the first half, and hit all five of her free throw attempts. Chaney Forbush scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Charmaine Hairston added nine points. Sammi Goldsmith posted 11 rebounds and five assists and hit two free throws with 40 seconds left to end the scoring. 

Brittany Drew paced Guilford (9-8/3-5 ODAC) with 11 points, and Anais Weatherly and Lauren Ramsey each scored 10. Weatherly added 10 rebounds. 

The Hornets (11-6/6-2 ODAC) travel to Emory & Henry College Tuesday for another ODAC game at 7 p.m.
