Hornet Women's Soccer Defeats E&H 4-0 to clinch #1 seed in ODAC Tourney
EMORY, VA – The 12th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team clinched the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular-season title and the #1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament with a 4-0 win Friday evening at Emory & Henry College.
LC did all of its damage in the first half, and posted two goals in the first 5:43 of action. Senior Morgan Singer found the back of the net twice, while fellow senior Jade Woll had a goal and an assist. McKenzie Frederick added a score and Frances Foster and Emily Maxwell contributed assists.
LC dominated the total shots (34-0), shots on goal (16-0) and corner kick (14-0) statistical categories.
Kieran Liseski came off the bench the Wasps (3-12-3/1-8-2 ODAC) to make eight saves in 55:08 of scoreless soccer.
The Hornets (17-2-1 overall) finish the regular season with a 10-0-1 conference record and will host a first-round game Wednesday against the #8 seed. With a win, Lynchburg would host the remaining other three teams next weekend on Shellenberger Field for three games, single-elimination style, until a champion is determined. Complete tournament brackets and match-ups will be available from the ODAC later this weekend. LC has captured the last five ODAC titles and seven of the last eight.
