Lynchburg Women Roll to 67-34 win over Shenandoah
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College women's basketball team opened a big early lead and never looked back Saturday in a 67-34 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Shenandoah University.
LC scored 20 of the game's first 22 points and held large leads of 20-4 and 39-12 at the end of the first period and halftime, respectively. Lynchburg had a 10-0 run early in the third quarter to extend the advantage to 35 points and cruised to victory.
Senior forward Chaney Forbush collected 11 points and 10 rebounds in just 15 minutes of action. Sammi Goldsmith handed out nine assists to go with eight points and six rebounds and Caroline Naumann had 12 points and four steals. Molly Shephard posted nine points and six boards while Sarah Coon tallied eight points and eight rebounds. Charmaine Hairston scored eight points.
Kanesha Foster posted team-highs of 12 points and nine rebounds for Shenandoah (5-14/2-8 ODAC). Olivia Callan had eight points and Kirstyn Arcata added six points and four rebounds.
Lynchburg (15-4/8-2) travels to Roanoke College for more ODAC play Wednesday at 7 p.m.
