Hornet Baseball Drops 13-7 Slugfest at Hampden-Sydney
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The two teams combined for 20 runs and 27 hits Thursday, but Hampden-Sydney outslugged the Lynchburg College baseball team 13-7 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.
The Hornets had four players with two hits apiece. Drew Taylor, Dillon Serley and Nathan Sharp each went 2-2, while Joe Tomasulo also ripped two hits. Tanner Fulton and Griffin Wild each recorded a hit and a walk.
H-SC opened an 11-1 lead after six innings. LC rallied to send six runners home in the seventh inning to bring the score back to 11-7, but couldn't cut any further into the Tiger advantage.
Moe Gothe went 3-5 for H-SC (16-8/3-3 ODAC) with two runs, five RBI, a double and a triple.
Lynchburg (7-15/3-5 ODAC) hosts Tufts University (MA) Friday at 2 p.m., part of a stretch of five games in four days.
