Eastlake, Ohio -- The University of Lynchburg baseball team had five student-athletes named to the 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DIII All-America Teams, the most in one season in program history.
All five Hornets were selected to the first, second, or third team.
Benton Jones led the group as the lone First Team All-American selection.
Jack Pokorak was tabbed to the All-America Second Team, while
Sean Pokorak,
Quinn Madden, and
Logan Tapman were all named to the All-America Third Team.Â
Jones earns his first All-American honor of his collegiate career following another spectacular season. The senior was fifth in the country in triples (17), sixth in DIII for base on balls (44), ninth in the nation for runs scored (69) and finished the season with a .498 on base percentage. Defensively, he fielded at a .953 percent success rate and contributed to 26 double plays.
Reigning ODAC Player of the Year and Region VI Position Player of the Year
Jack Pokorak earned a spot on the All-America Second Team. He led the country in RBI with 90, an ODAC record, and was top three in the nation in home runs with 17 total.Â
Sean Pokorak started behind the plate for the Hornets in 40 of 49 games and participated in 46 contests. He led the starting lineup in batting average at a .394 percent clip and played impeccable defense with 327 put outs, 25 assists, and just one error.
After a Fourth Team All-American nod in 2024, Madden picked up where he left off in his return to the field. He finished the season inside the top 20 across the country in hits with 76 and inside the top 30 in RBI with 61. The graduate finished third in the country in sacrifice flies with nine, and knocked 11 home runs for the Hornets.
Tapman, the 2026 Region VI Pitcher of the Year, landed on the All-American Third Team after finishing the season with the fourth-most victories in the country (10), three complete games - including one in the NCAA Super Regional round - and a no-hitter added to his resume. He concluded the year with a flawless 10-0 record to go along with a 3.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 77 strikeouts.
