Box Score Emory, Va. -- Lynchburg College's women's soccer team scored three first-half goals and added a pair more after intermission to cruise past Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Emory & Henry on the road Wednesday night.
Kennedy Jakubek (Leesburg, Va.) led the way for the Hornets with two goals and an assist, while Emily Maxwell (Quantico, Va.) and Sarah Crider (Forest, Va.) each scored her first goal of the 2017 campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caitlin Mertens (Succasunna, N.J.) put the Hornets on the board in the eighth minute, chasing down and finishing a loose ball in the Wasps' box.
- Maxwell corralled a saved shot off the foot of Jakubek and finished in the 14th minute. It was the All-American defender's first goal of the season and seventh of her career.
- Jakubek added the next two Lynchburg goals, scoring from a Katie Waring (Chester, Va.) cross in the 26th minute and again in the 61st minute, unassisted.
- Crider, playing in her first game of the season after returning from injury, added the Hornets' final score in the 80th minute.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets return to Shellenberger Field for Homecoming weekend festivities on Friday, Oct. 20, where they'll play host to Guilford at 4 p.m.
