Around the Horn

The Hornets tied the game in the third but fell back after the Cougars scored a run in the 5th. Lynchburg couldn't get anyone on the next two innings but the final three innings, the offense woke up, scoring seven runs including three in the top of the 9th to win their second straight game.

Game Breakdown

- Junior David Goulding handed in a spectacular performance on Saturday afternoon, pitching a complete game, allowing only two runs while striking out four Cougars

- Sophomores Thomas Powell and Griffin Wild both went 2-for-4 on the day and as a duo drove in two runs while scoring three themselves

- Also going 2-for-4, junior Will Harris scored and drove in a run in the victory to round out a dominant day at the plate for Lynchburg

- Seven Hornets had an RBI while six recorded at least one run as well

The Hornets return to Fox Field for another mid-week matchup with Southern Virginia on Wednesday, Feb. 15th. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. between the Hornets and Knights.
