Around the Horn

The Hornets took the lead thanks to a Will Harris homerun but the Saints put across seven runs in the next seven innings to top Lynchburg on Saturday evening

Game Breakdown

- Junior Will Harris blasted a home run to lead of the top of the 2nd inning, giving the Hornets a 1-0 lead

- The Saints added six runs between the 2nd and 6th innings, building a 6-1 lead

- With senior Will Hylton waiting on third base, freshman Shawn Allen hit a slow dribbler that the third baseman had to charge, forcing him to focus on the throw thus allowing Hylton to score in the top of the 7th inning

- Marymount added one more run in the bottom of the 7th inning

- Freshman Colin Corey scored on a walk by Harris in the top of the 9th

Inside the Stat Sheet

- Harris finished the game 1 for 3 including two RBIs and a walk

- Allen was the other Hornet who drove in a run on Saturday evening

- Harris is now tied for the lead in the conference with his two dingers so far this season

On Deck

The Hornets have a quick turnaround as they return to Fox Field for a doubleheader with Mount Aloysius on Sunday, Feb. 26th. The Hornets and Mounties will play two 7-inning games, the first starting at 12:00 p.m.
