The Hornets struggled to get the bats going in a tough 12-1 defeat to ODAC opponent Guilford Sunday afternoon. Guilford got up in the early innings and never looked book.
Game Breakdown
- The Quakers scored three runs in the first two innings
- Lynchburg would come back with a run in the 4th inning when junior Nathan Sharp singled to right field which scored senior shortstop Ryan Katona
- After cutting into the Guilford lead, the Quakers answered with a six run fifth inning to take a 9-1 lead
- Guilford would add a run in the sixth, seventh, and eight innings to seal a 12-1 victory
