Lynchburg Baseball defeated Roanoke College 4-3 behind a strong pitching performance from sophomore Ryan Irby and two home runs from senior Will Hylton.

Game Breakdown

- Sophomore Ryan Irby came into a long relief role to pitch the final 7.2 innings only allowing five hits while earning his second victory of the season

- Lynchburg struck first in the opening inning when Hylton homered over the left field fence

- Roanoke would answer in the bottom half to tie the game at one

- The Maroons would add two more runs in the second inning to make it a 3-1 game

- In the fifth inning, Hylton would hit another homer to cut the deficit to a run

- The Hornets would tie the game in the sixth inning when sophomore Griffin Wild brought home freshman Shawn Allen on a fielder's choice

- Lynchburg would take the lead in the seventh inning when sophomore Thomas Powell grounded into a double play that scored junior Dallas Johnson
