Around the Horn
The Hornets honored six seniors for their time in the Lynchburg Baseball program prior to Saturday's doubleheader vs. Eastern Mennonite.
Game 1 Breakdown
- Senior Zack Engelmann pitched a complete game for the Hornets, only allowing six hits while striking out four EMU batters
- In the third inning, Lynchburg scored off a sac fly from freshman Christopher Crouch that brought in junior Dallas Johnson
- The Hornets added to their lead in the fifth inning when senior Ryan Hardy hit a ground ball up the middle scoring Crouch and senior Will Hylton which made the lead grow to four runs (5-1)
- Junior Luke Rodgers capped off Lynchburg's scoring with a solo blast over the right-field fence in the bottom of the seventh inning
- Crouch had a strong game with two hits and three RBIs
Game 2 Breakdown
- The Royals opened to scoring in the second game right away in the top of the first with a string of singles to tally a total of two runs
- The Hornets matched Eastern Mennonite by scoring two runs of their own in the bottom of the first off of a double from freshman Shawn Allen, scoring senior Ryan Katona and Hylton
- Lynchburg took the lead in the bottom of the second when sophomore Griffin Wild scored on a groundout from Katona
- The Royals tied it up in the sixth inning and then took the lead on a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to make their lead 6-3
- Allen had two RBIs to lead the Hornets

The Hornets will go into the offseason after graduating six seniors from the program.
