- After Roanoke made the lead 6-0 on a home run in the fifth, Lynchburg pushed a run across when Powell singled home senior catcher Tyler Wood (Gloucester, Va.), who walked earlier in the frame.
- The Maroons added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings and plated two more in the ninth to bring the score to its final standing. LC got scoreless relief outings from junior right-hander Wesley Steelman (Glen Allen, Va.), sophomore left-hander Michael Foxwell (Eldersburg, Md.), freshman right-hander Phil D'Ambrosio (Fairfax Station, Va.), and sophomore right-hander Hunter Campbell (Lynchburg, Va.). Steelman struck out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh.
