Lynchburg, Va. — Alissa Smalls' 18 points led four University of Lynchburg women's basketball players in double figures as the Hornets stormed past Meredith for an 81-60 season-opening victory Sunday afternoon.

The sophomore guard added five rebounds, five assists, and two steals, shooting 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

Lynchburg's women's basketball team will be back in action Tuesday, Nov. 12 with a short roadtrip to Danville for a 7 p.m. trip at Averett.
