Women's basketball falls at defending ODAC champion

Winchester, Va. -- Despite 16 points from Lizzie Davis and 15 from Erin Green, University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team fell at defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference champion Shenandoah, 64-55, Saturday afternoon.

Lynchburg (7-7, 4-3 ODAC) fell behind 15-8 after the first quarter but stormed back in the second to bring the deficit to 1 before SU pulled back ahead. Shenandoah (8-5, 5-2) extended the lead in the late going 8-for-8 at the free throw line in the game's final minute.

Davis scored 14 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, and Green added four rebounds and three blocks to her line.

Returning from injury, Kate Kolb added eight points and nine rebounds in her season debut.

Lynchburg will return home Wednesday, Jan. 15 to take on Washington and Lee at 5 p.m. on the front end of a women's-men's doubleheader in Turner Gymnasium.
