Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg senior Kate Kolb scored 15 points in a 65-52 loss to Shenandoah on Senior Day. 

Kolb, Mimi Oliver, Erin Green, Lizzie Davis, Brooke Vetter, and Meredith Vetter were recognized for their accomplishments before the game. Entering the contest, Lynchburg women's basketball's Class of 2022 was 49-37 overall and played major roles on the 2021 conference championship team. 

Kolb opened the game with a layup after Davis grabbed a defensive rebound. Lynchburg shot 47.1% (8-17) from the floor in the first quarter and led 19-7. Olivia Harris drained a 3 while Kolb and Davis both scored six points. 

While Shenandoah only scored seven points in the first, the roles reversed and Lynchburg only put up seven in the second stanza. 

Harris made a jumper with 1:49 left in the half, but Shenandoah trailed by one point at the break. 

Shortly after Shenandoah took its first lead of the game in the third, Green reclaimed it momentarily for Lynchburg with two free throws. Green did a little of everything in the game with eight points, three blocks, three steals, and five rebounds. 

After Harris and Green scored back-to-back buckets to tie the game at 36 with 3:06 left in the third, Shenandoah exploded for a 10-0 run and took a 46-36 lead into the final quarter. 

Lizzie Davis led the way in the fourth with five points, one assist, rebound, and steal, but Shenandoah outpaced Lynchburg in the last 10 minutes of play and won 65-52.

Davis ended the game with 11 points, five assists, and eight rebounds, and Harris scored 13. The freshman tallied her 13th double-digit performance of the year.

Lynchburg (12-10, 8-7 ODAC) looks to rebound on Monday, Feb. 14 at Hollins.
