Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg baseball scored in five-straight innings while taking down Averett, 7-1, on Wednesday afternoon.

Jack Bachmore made the start and sat down the Cougars in order in the first. In the bottom half of the inning, Gavin Collins singled followed by an Averey Neaves walk. After PJ Alvanos reached on an error, Riley O'Donovan singled Collins home.

Bachmore came back out in the second and struck out the side but allowed a run.

The game remained tied into the fourth. In the top, Bachmore struck out two more batters for six total Ks across four innings of work. In the bottom, Ryan Long and Cameron Lane were hit by pitches. Carrson Atkins moved Long to third and the sophomore scored on a wild pitch to give Lynchburg the lead.
