Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Maddie Nimmo topped her season-high with 16 points, leading three University of Lynchburg women's basketball players in double-figure scoring as the Hornets rolled by visiting Eastern Mennonite, 75-61, Saturday for a key Old Dominion Athletic Conference win.
Nimmo scored seven of her 16 at the free-throw line and was 4-for-5 from the field in the victory, while Olivia Harris chipped in 15 points and Brooke Cason added 13 in her first collegiate start.
Leading 57-51 after the first three quarters, the Hornets began the fourth period on an extended 11-2 run, cutting the game clock down to 3:26 in the process to help seal the win. Lynchburg was 9-for-12 at the free-throw line in the final quarter and 19-for-23 overall.
Just three days after setting the program's single-game team 3-pointers record with 15 against Guilford, the Hornets made 10 more Saturday. It marked only the 16th time in Lynchburg women's basketball history the team knocked down double-digit 3s.
Harris logged six rebounds and two assists in addition to her scoring output, and Bree Spainhour and Darcy Ross totaled nine rebounds apiece. Kayla Terry added nine points off the bench as well.
Lynchburg (3-10, 2-5 ODAC) will hit the road in the midweek, heading to Randolph-Macon for a 6 p.m. tip Wednesday.
