Hanover, N.H. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team defeated Dartmouth in National Collegiate Equestrian Association action Saturday afternoon.
Fallyn Belcastro earned most-outstanding-performer honors on the flat with her 86 while riding Delinda. It was Lynchburg's best ride on the flat or over fences in the 6-2 victory.
Lynchburg earned two more points on the flat beginning with an 81 from Kelley McCormick on Stewart. Lucy Metzler edged out her opponent on Felix by one point.
The Hornets also earned three points over fences beginning with Brynley Smith. The senior rode Candy and received an 80. Emma Schweizer and Jacqueline Needle also secured points for Lynchburg over fences. Schweitzer's 84 on Alvarino secured the victory for Lynchburg.
The Hornets (1-1) continue NCEA single-discipline action on Friday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. when they host Bridgewater.
