Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team won its Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association event on Sunday.
The Hornets won their home show with 34 points narrowly edging out Hollins. The Green & Gold wrapped up with 33 points.
Brynley Smith brought home a blue ribbon in open fences.
Shannon Huth was second in open fences, and Hannah Hillyer was fourth in intermediate flat.
After winning limit flat, Alexandria Russell came in second in intermediate fences.
Kadin Bankel was fourth in limit in fences, Ava Jackson was first in limit fences, and Lily Dobbs took home fourth in intro.
Margaret Stell was fifth in open flat, and Emily Simmons was fourth limit flat.
It was Lynchburg's first IHSA victory since November 2022.
The Hornets compete in their next IHSA show on Nov. 4 at Virginia Tech.
