Blacksburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team finished third at the Virginia Tech IHSA show on Saturday.
Lynchburg earned 31 points finishing behind Virginia Tech (second) and Hollins (first). The Hornets placed in front of University of Virginia and Washington and Lee.
Shannon Huth and Brynley Smith both placed fifth in open fences. Alexandria Russell and Elle Nutting both placed second in intermediate fences. Ava Jackson and Kriston Parr each came in fifth in limit fences.
On the flat, Smith came in second in open flat, Huth came in third, and Margaret Stell came in sixth. Hannah Hillyer placed second in intermediate flat. Russell and Ava Hogan both won limit flat, and Carlie Madonna placed third. In novice flat, Reese Albany came in third, Alexandra Miller came in second and Sydney McIntosh came in third. Dobbs wrapped up the event with a fifth-place finish in intro.
