Hackettstown, N.J. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team finished 10th out 18 at the IHSA Tournament of Champions hosted by Centenary University Saturday.
The Savannah College of Art and Design won the tournament followed by Mt. Holyoke in second, and Centenary in third.
In open fences, Brynley Smith placed sixth. Alexandria Russell placed fourth in intermediate fences, and Ava Jackson had the highest finish of any Lynchburg rider of the day with a second-place performance in limit fences.
Margaret Stell placed fourth in open flat, and Russell placed sixth in intermediate flat.
Victoria Riordan placed third in novice flat.
Elle Nutting placed fourth in low medal which is a unique class to this format. There were 20 riders who rode flat, then the top-10 were called back to jump.
Stell competed in the high medal but did not make it past the call back.
Lily Dobbs and Kriston Parr also rode Saturday but did not place.
