Box Score Winchester, Va. -- Maddie Nimmo scored a game-high 17 points, but it wasn't enough for University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team in the Hornets' 56-43 Old Dominion Athletic Conference defeat at Shenandoah Friday evening.
Nimmo added four steals to her tally, while Bree Spainhour added six points and eight rebounds for the visitors.
SU leapt out to an 18-10 lead after the first quarter, but Lynchburg battled back into the game to trail by four at halftime. The host Hornets locked down defensively in the second half, however, holding Lynchburg to just 15 points after halftime.
Terese Greene scored 17 for Shenandoah, while Madisen Kimble tallied 13 point and seven rebounds for SU.
Lynchburg (7-16, 6-10 ODAC) returns home for a Wednesday tilt with Randolph-Macon in a game that will be key for seeding in the upcoming conference tournament.
