Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg National Collegiate Equestrian Association team closed out its home-regular season schedule with a strong performance over Bridgewater winning 5-3.
Sophomore Emma Schweizer earned both most-outstanding-player awards with an 85 over fences and an 80 on the flat for the top-ranked Hornets
Lynchburg won fences 3-1 with points coming in from freshman Caroline Light, junior Brynley Smith, and Schweizer.
The flat split 2-2 with the fourth-ranked Eagles. Junior Kelley McCormick and Schweizer won the flat points to seal the win.
The NCEA team ends its regular season with a record of 7-3 and a conference record of 5-1, a program best.
The Hornets visit Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. Lynchburg will look to continue its success when the Hornets host the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Single Discipline Championship scheduled for March 24-26.
