Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse senior goalie Tyler Hadley made the most saves by a Lynchburg goalie in a conference tournament game since 2018 as the Hornets defeated Ronaoke in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals Thursday.
Hadley saved 17 shots in the 12-10 win over the Maroons. CJ Santora previously stopped 19 in the ODAC semis against Washington and Lee in 2018.
The Summit, N.J. native's heroics in the crease kept Lynchburg in the game as they trailed Ronaoke throughout the first half. Hadley scored his first-collegiate goal in the win as well.
Hadley's scored the first goal of the second half to tie the game 6-6. After making his eighth save of the evening, Hadley drifted up the field as Lynchburg looked to clear the ball. Roanoke left Hadley unmarked, and with the Maroon goalie defending a Lynchburg attacker on the other end of the field, Hadley found the back of the empty net from midfield.
His score tied the game up for the fourth time, but there we eight ties in the game overall.
Dylan Wolfe, making his first start on attack since his freshman year, scored his second goal of the game with 3:53 to play in third and tied the game 7-7.
After Roanoke retook the lead, Mitchell secured his fourth goal of the night. Earlier in the first half, Mitchell recorded his fourth hat trick of the season with a man-down goal.
Lynchburg took its first lead of the game on back-to-back goals from Luke Meadows and Spencer Vandenberg to begin the fourth, but keeping the trend of the night, Roanoke retied the game with six minutes to play.
Wolfe put Lynchburg back in front for the final time with a laser shot 39 seconds later. Grant Voigt's second goal of the game finally put the game out of Roanoke's reach with 1:17 to play.
However, the Maroons threatened with a man-up opportunity as 60 seconds displayed on the scoreboard. Hadley made two decisive saves on the penalty kill to seal the victory for Lynchburg. Dom Zingo intercepted a pass and killed the remainder of the clock sending Lynchburg to its ninth-straight ODAC championship game.
Cole Nestor collected a career-high seven ground balls and Michael Kraus won 14 faceoffs.
