Spainhour puts up double-double in win over Hollins

Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg sophomore forward Bree Spainhour recorded her first-career double-double in a 78-48 victory over Hollins on Wednesday evening.

Spainhour was one of three Hornets in double-figures with 15, Sammi Sever scored 13, and Olivia Harris dropped 12.

Spainhour's 12 rebounds were a career-high, and she had nine at halftime. Sayre Brandstatter also recorded 12 rebounds for the season-high against Salisbury in November.

Lynchburg jumped out to its first double-digit lead late in the first quarter on a 3-pointer from Brooke Cason. She finished with nine points on 3-7 (42.9%) shooting from deep.

Sever capped off the first half with a 3 assisted by Brandstatter as the Hornets led 45-28.

Harris led the charge in the second half with 10, Darcy Ross added five points and three boards, and Taylor Gantt capped off the 30-point win with a free throw.
