Winchester, Va.-- The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team defeated Shenandoah 69-59 on Friday evening.
Jonathan Foust led the team in scoring with 13 points off 5-8 (63%) shooting. Miles Taylor nearly finished with a double-double after finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds. Cameron O' Conner, Piercen Young, and Landon Sutton each contributed nine points.Â
Both teams struggled from behind the arc. Lynchburg shot 3-19 (16%) from deep, while 25th-ranked Shenandoah shot 1-32 (3%).Â
Lynchburg battled with Shenandoah for the lead early, but managed to secure the lead off a layup from O'Conner with 14:31 left in the first half. Shenandoah managed to tie the game twice in the second half, but Lynchburg never surrendered the lead. Nine points from Sutton and seven points from Foust in the final 8:32 of the game helped secure the win for Lynchburg.
This loss marks the first home loss of the season for Shenandoah.
Lynchburg (9-6, 4-2 ODAC) will host Roanoke College on Wednesday, Jan. 10.Â
