Lynchburg Va. -- The University of Lynchburg field hockey team has a fast turn around after back-to-back games last weekend, taking on its first conference competition of the season in the Bridgewater Eagles this Wednesday, October 2 at 4:30 p.m.
The Hornets (4-2) are coming off of a 3-1 win last Sunday against Susquehanna. This week's outing comes with heavy stakes as the Hornets own a 10-game win streak against Bridgewater heading into Wednesday's affair. Since 1981, the Hornets own a 31-4 advantage in the series. The last time the Hornets met the Eagles, the Hornets took the match 4-0, coming out of the gate quickly, scoring within the first 6 minutes.
The Eagles currently have a 5-2-1 record and are coming into this game following a one-sided, 8-1 win over Meredith. Four players led the offense for Bridgewater, accounting for all eight points against Meredith.
The Hornets make their way back to Shellenberger Field this Saturday, October 5, to square up against Rowan University at noon.
