Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg field hockey team collected their most dominant win of the season taking down Eastern Mennonite 13-0.
Anna Dorestine got the party started early for the Hornets, scoring the opening two goals of the contest within the first six minuets. From the opening whistle, the flood gates opened for Lynchburg. the Hornets tallied 54 shots, 39 of which were on goal, compared to EMU's 0.
Nine different Hornets collected a goal on the day, led by
Grace Peterson and Dorrestjin with three a piece. Peterson collected her first two goals in the second quarter, and were just 30 seconds apart from one another. The Lynchburg offense had a phenomenal day both shooting and passing, assisting on seven of their 13 goals.
The Hornets remain in first place in the ODAC standings with an undefeated, 6-0, conference record with this win. Lynchburg will close out the regular season slate with their two toughest ODAC opponents of the year with No. 12 Shenandoah and Virginia Wesleyan. Before taking on fellow top-25 opponent Shenandoah, the Hornets will place the Marlins in Virginia Beach next Wednesday, Oct. 30.
