Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's tennis team defeated Stevenson 9-0 Thursday afternoon.
Lynchburg swept doubles play with a slightly different lineup. A familiar duo of Levi Vigdorchik and Alex Rintoul won 8-2 at the first double flight. Dan Hardy and Sebastian Sierra teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2. A new pairing at No. 3, Shadi Kallel and Christian Zepeda, cruised to an 8-0 victory. The Hornets entered singles competition with a 3-0 edge over the Mustangs.
In singles action, Kallel played on the first court for the second time this season. He won 7-6, 6-0. Hardy won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2, and Sierra won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3. Rintoul and Zepeda played at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Neither player dropped a game during their matches. In a shortened match, Patricio Zepeda played at No. 6 after sitting out during doubles, winning 8-0.
Lynchburg (6-1, 2-0 ODAC) will not see the hard courts for two weeks. They face Hampden-Sydney at home on Friday, Mar. 29.
