Roanoke, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team competed at the Hollins IHSA show and in IHSA regionals on Saturday.
During the Hollins show to begin the day, Lynchburg tied for third with Virginia. The Hornets and Cavaliers both totaled 30 points while Hollins won its home show with 34 points.
Zoey Horn won intermediate flat and placed sixth in intermediate fences. Lynchburg's two other blue ribbons came from Iris Moseley and Ava Hogan, both in limit flat.
Elle Nutting placed second in intermediate fences, and Alexandra Miller came in second in novice flat.
The Hornets had three third-place performances featuring Margaret Stell in open fences, Kadin Bankel in limit fences, and Kriston Parr in limit fences. Stell also placed fourth in open flat.
Alexandria Russell rounded out Lynchburg's final regular-season IHSA show with a fifth-place finish in intermediate flat.
After the regular-season show wrapped up, four Hornets competed in regionals. All four riders qualified for IHSA zones which will be held at Sweet Briar on Saturday, April 6. Lynchburg's four regional winners were Russell in limit fences, Stell in intermediate fences, Horn in limit fences, and Moseley in novice flat.
