Sweet Briar, Va. -- University of Lynchburg equestrian sophomore Zoey Horn and junior Alexandria Russell qualified for IHSA Nationals on Saturday.
Four Hornets rode for a spot at nationals during IHSA Zones hosted by Sweet Briar College. Russell placed second in limit flat, Horn placed second in limit fences, Margaret Stell finished third in intermediate fences, and Iris Moseley came in fourth in novice flat. The first-place and second-place riders in each division earn the zone's bids to the national show.
Horn and Russell are the first Lynchburg riders to qualify for nationals since Dakota Banks competed on the national stage in 2022.Â
IHSA Nationals will take place in Tyron, N.C. beginning Friday, May 3.Â
