Tryon, N.C. -- University of Lynchburg equestrian Alexandria Russell placed third in limit flat at IHSA nationals on Friday.
Russell and Zoey Horn qualified for nationals after both placing second in their respective divisions at IHSA zones in April. Horn placed 10th in limit fences at the national show in North Carolina.
Russell's third-place finish in limit flat marks one of Lynchburg's best performances at the national show. Dakota Banks was the runner-up in 2022.
Russell and Horn's national appearances cap off a great postseason for the Hornets which featured four riders at IHSA zones a month ago. All four of Lynchburg's zones competitors qualified for the show after winning their divisions at regionals.
