Lynchburg, Va. -- The No. 13 University of Lynchburg field hockey team scored a goal for each period of its outing against Stockton to secure its second victory of the season, 4-1, on Saturday morning.

Danielle Coon paced the Hornet (2-0) offense with two goals on five shots, her first collegiate performance with multiple scores. Forward
Jill Pleiter buried her first goal in a Lynchburg uniform with just over a minute to go in the first period.
Anna Dorrestijn, a forward, knocked in her first goal of the season in the third period with 2:29 left on the clock. Defender Kaelin Drey scored the lone goal for the Ospreys in the contest.
The Hornets peppered the cage all game, firing off 26 shots and 18 on goal. Of the 18 shots that landed between the pipes, 10 came from the hands of Dorrestijn. Goalkeeper Erika Roura stopped and impressive 12 shots for Stockton.Â
For the third consecutive season, Lynchburg begins its field hockey campaign with back-to-back wins. In both contests, the Hornets grabbed the lead and held onto it for the remainder of the game. They have yet to trail in each of its two competitions this season.
