Forest, Va. -- Following an impressive showing at the 2025 Paul Short Run this past weekend, sophomore
Alex Jordan was appointed the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Jordan and the Hornets' men's team earned 239 total team points at the Paul Short Run to finish in fifth place overall for the Men's White Race, just one point behind ODAC foe Washington and Lee. The Forest, Va. product raced to a top-10 mark, demolishing his previous personal best.
In the 8k, the reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year for cross country clocked a time of 24:32.1 to place eighth overall individually. That results beat out his previous collegiate best by 33 seconds and represented his first time under the 25-minute barrier in the 8k.
There now is a nearly two-week break for Jordan and the Lynchburg cross country squad before returning to competition. The group will split the squad for two events on Saturday, Oct. 18, where some will travel to the Connecticut College Invite and others will remain close to home for the Roanoke Inter-Regional.
