Lynchburg, Va. --Â The University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team and head coach
Steve Koudelka unveiled its 2026 schedule, featuring a strong nonconference slate and seven home matchups at Shellenberger Field.
The Hornets open the campaign on Saturday, Feb. 14, when they welcome St. Mary's (Md.) to Shellenberger Field. Lynchburg then hits the road for back-to-back contests at Pfeiffer (Feb. 21) and perennial national power Salisbury (Feb. 28).
March brings one of the toughest stretches of the season, beginning with a home matchup against Denison on March 7. The following weekend, the Hornets travel to Stevenson, Md., for the annual Callum Robinson Mustang Classic, where they'll face Christopher Newport on March 13 and Gettysburg on March 14.
Lynchburg returns to Virginia for a midweek road contest begin ODAC play at Averett (March 18) before taking on Bridgewater at home on March 21. Conference road trips to Roanoke (March 28) and Virginia Wesleyan (April 1) lead into an April home stand featuring Stevenson (April 4), Guilford (April 8), Randolph-Macon (April 11), and Shenandoah (April 15).
The Hornets close out the regular season with visits to Hampden-Sydney (April 18) and Randolph (April 22) before returning home for the team's Code Red against Washington and Lee on April 25.
Postseason play begins with the ODAC Quarterfinals on April 27, followed by the Semifinals (May 1) and Championship (May 3). The NCAA Tournament is set to start May 6, culminating with the National Championship on May 24 in Charlottesville, Va.
Each of Lynchburg's nonconference opponents were participants in the NCAA national tournament last season, setting up a strong campaign to battle test the Hornets before postseason action. Last year, the Hornets finished the season with a 14-7 overall record and a 9-1 record in ODAC play.
Although Lynchburg fell in overtime against Washington and Lee in the conference championship in 2025, the Hornets earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and claimed a commanding 15-6 win over Stevenson in the second round. That tournament appearance marked the 13th consecutive season that Lynchburg earned a spot in the national tournament.
