Sparks, Md. -- The University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team was voted as the 12th-best team in division III across the country in the USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll. Additionally,
Parker Sealey and
Liam Holman were named as second and third team All-Americans, respectively, while three other Hornets were selected as honorable mentions.
Sealey was honored on the second team as a short stick defensive midfielder and Holman was selected to the third team as a long stick midfielder. Attackman
Riley Hastings, long stick middie
Luke Meadows, and faceoff specialist
Riley Frankel were all honorable mentions. Last season, Sealey was one of two Hornets honored as USILA All-Americans. Holman was tabbed as a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American honorable mention from the 2024-25 season.
As a squad, Lynchburg was named as the No. 12 team in division III. Tufts was selected as the top team in the nation, while Christopher Newport was second and Salisbury was third. Three ODAC teams in total found a spot inside the top 20 of the preseason poll: Washington and Lee was No. 6 and Roanoke was No. 20.Â
The Hornets finished last year's campaign with a 14-7 overall record and received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Lynchburg took down Stevenson in the NCAA second round before falling to Christopher Newport in the round of 16.
The men's lacrosse crew begins their 2026 season on Feb. 14, starting with a home matchup against St. Mary's (MD) at 3 p.m.
