Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team claimed its sixth consecutive win of the season to close out its fall slate, defeating Sewanee 7-3 on Saturday at the Lynchburg Equestrian Center.
The No. 1 Hornets (6-0) remain unbeaten this season and will carry that unblemished record into 2026. Today's meet saw
Rebecca Collier and
Amaya Bellfield shine, collecting MOPs in the fences and flat, respectively. Collier earned a score of 87 riding Luca in fences, while Bellfield secured a score of 89 in the flat riding Balou. Both were the top scores of their events.
Lynchburg earned four team points in the fences to start things off. Bellfield was the next top performer in fences, receiving a score of 86 riding Zehn for a team point.
Mary Katherine Ragsdale and
Stella Patenaude produced great performances as well, securing scores of 84 riding Motaz and 83 riding Archie, respectively.
Madeline Rubin earned a score of 72 on Itina, while Mackenna Moss claimed an 84 in her exhibition riding Luna.
The Hornets continued the momentum into the flat, taking three team points to seal the victory. Along with Bellfield's point,
Abby Zemp scored an 82 on Van Gogh to snag a team point and
Abigail Devlin received a score of 80 riding Caleb for a team point. Collier scored a 78 riding Ollie and
Devyn Borden rode Eragon for a score of 73 to round out Lynchburg performers. Additionally,
Ella Neyland scored a 74 in her exhibition riding Carl.
The Lynchburg NCEA crew will return to action in the new year, first facing ODAC rival Sweet Briar on Friday, Feb. 20. To view the complete results from today's meet,
