Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian squad took down Sewanee on Friday afternoon, 6-4, in the semifinal round of the ODAC Head to Head Tournament to advance to the Finals, which takes place tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Rustburg, Va. against top-seeded Sweet Briar.
The Hornets were highlighted byÂ
Fallyn Belcastro's performances in both the fences and flat. The senior took home the MOP awards for both events, earning the top score for both. She claimed an outstanding 86.5 riding Concept in the fences before earning an astounding 89.5 riding Trey in the flat.
Abby Zemp and
Emma Schweizer were the other two Hornets to claim team points in both events. Zemp earned a score of 79.5 riding Hemingway in the fences and followed that with a solid score of 81.5 riding Kanye in the flat. Schweizer tabbed a nice score of 80.5 riding Cooley in the fences and finished the competition with a 76 riding Lander in the flat.
