No. 4 Baseball Hosts Bridgewater For Senior Day

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg baseball squad is set for its final home bout of the regular season when Bridgewater visits James C. Fox Field for a double header on Saturday, April 19, beginning at noon.

The No. 4 Hornets (29-5, 14-3) will be honoring their graduating student athletes in a senior day ceremony prior to tomorrow's first game of the double header. Those student-athletes that will be honored are: Spencer Baird, Timothy Cotton, Bryce Demory, Brock Duff, Eric Hiett, Quinn Madden, Carson Peggins, Domenic Rowlands, Ethan Smith, and Logan Webster.

Lynchburg sits atop the conference standings with a .824 ODAC winning percentage. Bridgewater (22-10-1, 12-4-1) is close behind in the standings with a .735 conference winning percentage for second place. 

The Eagles rank first in the conference in scoring with 8.7 runs per game. They also have the most hits in the conference with 367 total across 32 games for an average of 11.1 hits per affair. Nick Stavros leads the way with 54 hits, which ranks first in the conference and 15th in the nation. Zack Chadwell has knocked the sixth-most home runs in division III and second-most in the ODAC with 12 total home runs.

The Hornets allow just 7.62 hits per nin innings this season, the best mark in the conference and 10th-best in the country. The pitching staff's ERA is second best in the nation at 2.80 and the WHIP for that group is the third best in division III and best in the ODAC at 1.18. Tyler Kaltreider (1.44 ERA), Nick Mattfield (1.61), and Logan Tapman (2.25) are second, third, and fourth in the ODAC for ERA, respectively.

After tomorrow's affair, the Hornets will head to Ashland, Va. to face Randolph-Macon on Tuesday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m.
