Men's Volleyball Concludes Debut Season

Lynchburg, Va. – The Lynchburg men's volleyball team wrapped up its inaugural season with a 3-0 road loss at Randolph on Saturday.

Nick Redding led all players with 12 kills, adding nine digs and two blocks on the defensive end. Bryce Jackson contributed three blocks and a pair of service aces for the Hornets.

The opening set saw both teams trading points early, but Randolph seized momentum late with an 8-1 run to take the frame, 25-15.

In the second set, Lynchburg tallied 11 more total attacks and five more kills than Randolph, but the Wildcats held firm by playing clean volleyball—committing zero errors compared to seven by the Hornets. Despite a late 5-1 rally from Lynchburg, Randolph edged out a 25-22 win to go up 2-0.

The third set turned into a back-and-forth battle with both squads exchanging scoring runs. Although the Hornets logged more kills and fewer errors, Randolph remained in control. A key 7-2 run midway through the set gave the Wildcats the upper hand en route to a 25-21 win and a straight-set sweep.

Lynchburg finishes its debut campaign with a 9-15 (2-10 ODAC) record, ending the year on a six-match skid. Still, with no graduating seniors and a promising core of young talent, head coach Ryan Turner and the Hornets are poised to build momentum heading into next season with a new wave of incoming freshmen and transfers.
