Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg Baseball team is set for a trip to Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. for the championship weekend of the ODAC tournament, starting with a contest against fourth-seeded Shenandoah on Thursday, May 8 at 3 p.m.

The Hornets enter this tournament as the top seed, followed by second-seeded Randolph-Macon, third-seeded Bridgewater, and fourth-seeded Shenandoah. To conclude the regular season, the two Hornet squads clashed which resulted in one win apiece for each side. The Hornets of Winchester took game one and the Hornets of Lynchburg finished off game two with the win to end their regular season.

The winner of this first game will face off against the victor of Bridgewater and Randolph-Macon's competition. The Eagles and Yellow Jackets will be square off right after the battle of the Hornets, at 6:30 p.m.

The Hornets previously swept Bridgewater in dominating fashion, putting up a total of 51 runs in just 14 innings of play and 12 frames of offense. Bolstered by a 21-run inning in the first game, the Hornets successfully kept control over the ODAC standings for the remainder of the regular season.

Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon battled it out in two midweek games earlier this year. Lynchburg came out on top both games for their first sweep over the Yellow Jackets since 2019. The Hornets look to continue their nationally top-ranked baseball play throughout the postseason.

Lynchburg looks to reclaim their ODAC title and win their 4th championship over the past five years in this double elimination tournament adjacent to our nation's capital. Saturday, May 10 will hold the final matchup of the conference championship weekend, where the last team standing will claim the ODAC title. Below is a layout of the championship schedule.
