Men's Lacrosse Lands Four On VaSID All-State Teams

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team had four of its student-athletes earn spots on the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State Teams, announced on Wednesday.

The four Hornet performers that claimed places on the All-State teams were fifth year midfielder Jake Rust, junior attack Riley Hastings, senior goalkeeper Andrew Miller, and junior short stick defensive middie Parker Sealey. Rust was the lone Lynchburg player to be named to the First Team while Hastings, Miller and Sealey were named to the Second Team.

After recently earning All-American status by USILA and USA Magazine, Rust earned his third selection to the All-State team and second consecutive First Team honor. The Windham, N.H. product's decorated collegiate career concluded with him slotted in third on the program's all-time list for goals with 187 and fifth in points with 231.

Sealey was also named an All-American by USILA this season and was the only Lynchburg student-athlete to be selected to the Second Team. As a defensive midfielder, Sealey scored 17 goals and dished out four assists. He was a significant contributor to the Hornets' stout defensive unit and finished the season with eight caused turnovers and 47 ground balls.

Hastings and Miller were both USILA All-American honorable mentions after incredible performances this season. Hastings paced the squad in points with 67 total on 34 goals and 33 assists. His 1.74 dimes per game tied for the third-most in the ODAC this season. Miller ranked top-five in the conference this season in save percentage (third, 53.7%), goals against average (fourth, 10.87 per game), and saves per game (fifth, 10.65 per game).
