Equestrian Rolls Out 2025-26 Schedule

Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team and head coach Phillip Williamson are thrilled to announce the 2025-26 schedule of competitions.

The Hornets start their NCEA slate at the home facility in Rustburg, Va., welcoming Charleston and Centenary on September 26 and 27, respectively. Additionally, the IHSA squad will travel to Baltimore, Md. for the Tournament of Champions at Goucher on September 27. Following that, Lynchburg will host its IHSA competition for its first contests of October on the 4th and 5th.

The equestrian squad will split the next weekend, sending its NCEA group to Sewanee on October 10 and the IHSA squad to Roanoke, Va. on October 11 for the Hollins IHSA. Lynchburg returns home on October 17 to square off against Bridgewater for an NCEA meet before traveling to Fincastle, Va. for the Washington and Lee IHSA show on October 19.

The ODAC Traditional Championships will take place in Lexington, Va. on October 24. Following that competition, Lynchburg will host an NCEA meet against Sweet Briar on November 7. The IHSA group will travel to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech IHSA from November 8 through November 9.

The Hornets will face the Sewanee Tigers for the second time on November 15, this time at the home facility. The final competition of 2025 for Lynchburg will be the Tournament of Champions at Centenary in Long Valley, N.J. on December 6.

After a brief break in the schedule, the Hornets pick back up on January 24 for the SCAD-Savannah Tournament of Champions. Lynchburg then travels to Roanoke, Va. once again for the 2026 Hollins IHSA show on February 14 and 15. The first NCEA outing of 2026 will be the team's second meeting against Sweet Briar in Amherst, Va. on February 20.

Lynchburg takes a trip south to Charleston, S.C. for two more NCEA meets against Charleston and Centenary on February 27. To conclude the month of February, the Hornets will take part in the Virginia Tech IHSA show on the 28th. After that, the IHSA crew will return to Blacksburg, Va. for the IHSA Regionals on March 1.

To wrap up the NCEA regular season, Lynchburg will host Berry on March 7. The Hornets' IHSA student-athletes will compete in the Tournament of Champions at Findlay in Ohio on March 21.

The ODAC Tournament (NCEA style) will take place from March 18 through March 21 at Sweet Briar's facility. The IHSA Zones competition is set to take place at Goucher on April 4.

Last season, the Hornets took home the conference championship in the traditional format and the NCEA format, beating Sweet Briar in the latter competition by a raw score of 777.5-674.0. The ODAC Championship was the team's second in as many years. Lynchburg's IHSA squad had a historic season, winning IHSA Zones and making an appearance at the IHSA National Championship as a team for the first time in program history.
