Lynchburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg field hockey team heads to Liberty University on Saturday, Sept. 13, for a top-15 affair against Ursinus at 4 p.m.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two sides since 2021. Neither team holds an advantage, splitting the series 2-2. Last year, Lynchburg claimed a victory over the Bears in another ranked matchup, which ended in a 5-4 thriller.
The No. 15 Hornets (3-1) come into this contest with a win in their last game against Mary Washington, 5-2. Lynchburg's sole loss this season came at the hands of No. 8 Bates on the road last Sunday.
Senior
Danielle Coon is coming off a career performance against the Eagles, sporting two assists and one goal. Coon is top-5 in every offensives statistic in the ODAC. Senior
Saar Prins is also coming off a career-best two goals in her last outing, nearly matching her collegiate total.
No. 13 Ursinus (3-1) enters this affair with three straight victories, after dropping their season opener to No. 14 Rowan.
The Bears are led offensively by junior
Marie Brainard, the team's top scorer and a 2024 All-Centennial Second Team and NFHCA Second Team All-Region honoree. In goal, senior
Adriana Palladinetti returns for her third season as the starter after turning in a career-best performance last year that earned her All-Centennial Second Team recognition.
Following this matchup, Lynchburg will host Susquehanna on Shellenberger field for a rematch of last year's NCAA First Round contest on Saturday, Sept. 20.
