Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team finished up their NCEA regular season with an 8-2 victory against Berry on Saturday at the Lynchburg Equestrian Center.
The No. 3 Hornets (8-2) took down the Vikings in dominant fashion, earning all five points in the Fences and three-of-five points in the Flat.
Amaya Bellfield was a standout performer for Lynchburg today, earning MOP awards for both classes and scoring an 87 in each of her rides.
In the Fences,
Mary Katherine Ragsdale rode to a score of 85, while
Rebecca Collier was close behind with a score of 84 and
Madeline Rubin followed suit with a score of 83.
Stella Patenaude rounded out scoring performances for the Hornets with a solid 76 for a team point.
In the Flat,
Abby Zemp was the next top performer for Lynchburg, scoring an 81 to secure a team point. Rubin rode to a socre of 69 and beat her opponent by three for a team point. Collier and
Abigail Devlin produced nice performances with scores of 75 and 73, respectively.
Lynchburg now awaits the ODAC Tournament, which will take place from Wednesday, March 18 through Saturday, March 21 on the campus of Sweet Briar in Amherst, Va.
