COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — University of Lynchburg field hockey seniors
Allie Freeman and
Khanyisile Mzizi have been named to the 2026 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist, announced Thursday morning.
Mzizi was named an NFHCA All-American for the third consecutive season in 2025, along with earning All-Region and All-ODAC recognition. The senior midfielder once again enters the season with national recognition as one of the premier two-way players in the Division III landscape. Last season, Mzizi recorded 14 points for the Hornets with four goals and six assists.
Freeman joined Mzizi, along with three other Hornets, on the NFHCA All-Region VI squad in 2025. After making her All-Region debut with second-team honors in 2024, Freeman earned a first-team nod last season. The Yorktown, Va., native recorded 13 assists, the third-most in the ODAC, along with six goals. She closed the regular season with seven assists over the final four contests.
Lynchburg begins its season in less than a week in Winchester, Va., opening the 2026 campaign against Johns Hopkins on Sept. 1.
