Leonard Scores Four as LC Field Hockey Rolls 10-0 at Roanoke

SALEM, VA – Junior attack Lindsay Leonard scored four times Thursday evening to lead the sixth-ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team to a 10-0 win at Roanoke College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Senior Deanna Smith scored the game's first goal at 9:27 on an assist from Kelli Williams. Eight seconds later Leonard started a scoring binge that would net her three-straight tallies and push LC to a 4-0 lead at intermission. Smith scored again soon after the break, followed by goals from Leonard, Ashley Vogan, Shelly Milks, Kelsey Link and Megan Tillou. Kristina Morris had two assists and Milks added one.

The Hornets out-shot the Maroons 27-6 and held a 9-3 edge in penalty corners. Christina Scichilone made 11 saves for RC (2-6/1-1 ODAC).

Lynchburg (8-1/2-0) travels to Washington & Lee University for another ODAC match Saturday at 1 p.m.
